The volcano’s eruption on June 15th 1991 was truly a nightmare; it caused several earthquakes which resulted in the collapse of summit and the creation of caldera. It was a nightmare that surprisingly left us a beautiful crater lake.
For this trip, we had a package deal from Majestic Mount Pinatubo which costs Php 1900/person. Foods, snacks and van rental are excluded but they have a public van from Manila going to Tarlac and vice-versa. The 4×4 ride made it quite pricey.
Trekking Mt. Pinatubo doesn’t necessarily need to camp out since it was just a 2 hours trek, excluding the 1.5hr 4×4 ride. Expect the trail to be bumpy because it was badly damaged by the eruption and sometimes you have to cross rivers so it’s better to wear a wettable shoes.
Reaching the crater lake will make you see the worth of all your effort and sweat. Though swimming in to the lake has been prohibited since 2013, the breathtaking view of the crater lake will leave you in awe. The surrounding is really wonderful and peaceful!
We were lucky enough that the weather is nice and cool during our trek. 🙂
How adventurous and creative can you style your hair?
If I were to be asked, I’ve done a lot of dyeing and cutting with my hair for the past 3 years. So here’s some of my selfies with different hair styles:
- Long Brown Hair
I had a shoulder length black hair when I started working way back 2013. Months after, my hair grew that long then I decided to dye it with brown for a change.
2. Bob Cut
After a year, I got irritated with my hair. LOL. I don’t know how to style my own hair so I tried bob cut which I think made me look matured compared with the longer one.
3. Shoulder Length Ombre
After months of letting my hair grow naturally, I got bored with it again so I tried out something new… Ombre! Which I regret later on because it is high-maintenance and the end of my hair became too dry. I want to grow my hair longer and have it curled at the end but the stylists won’t let me, they said they can’t curl a bleached hair which made me move on to the next style.
4. Pixie Cut
Say hello to my current hair style, Pixie cut! Good bye bleached hair! I like it even though I look like a (Korean) boy with this style. 🙂 I was hesitant at first because I’m not sure if I will look good with this style; I even thought about it for a week until I got brave enough to go for it. Yeah, I feel brave for doing it!
What do you think? I need feedback. Which hair style do you think suits me best? 🙂
Mt. Batulao is located at Nasugbu, Batangas and is 811 meters above sea level. The accessibility, the 360 degrees breathtaking view of Batangas and the amazing landscape of the mountain makes it one of the perfect getaway from city. It is also one of the top mountains for beginners.
Mt. Batulao have two trails, the Old and New trail, which gives you an option on which trail to take first. Our group took New to Old trail which I think is easier than the other way around because if you took Old trail first, you have to climb through boulders.
We may have encountered challenges such as muddy trails, leg cramps, steep slopes and long walks under the scorching heat of the sun but overall, everything went good because the trail is so easy that you won’t get lost. I suggest to buy a bamboo stick for Php 10 as your trekking pole if the trail is muddy, it will make your trekking easier!
We immediately ordered Halo-Halo upon reaching the summit. Yes! they sell Halo-Halo at the top of the mountain! Something to enjoy while resting after a long walk. 🙂
The usual group photo and photo ops when you reached the summit 😛
So here’s the part where we have to rappel down via Old trail. Some locals just ran on it like a ninja while we struggle our way down! Unbelievable!
After rappelling down, we had another long walk going back to registration area. That’s all for Mt. Batulao! Personally, this is my easiest day hike and I like it there because they sell Halo-Halo. Haha!
Ethan’s Cafe is just 5 minutes away from where I live and if I’m not mistaken, this is the first coffee shop that opened in our neighbor. I spent one afternoon there with my sister and nephew. The exterior design is very modern and just by seeing it for the first time made me “WOW” already.
The cafe have two floors. The first floor is small but could accommodate enough people and has a cute interior design. At the second floor are the balcony and a room that can be reserve for parties or private gatherings.
Aside from coffee and pastries, they also serve pasta and rice meals but I haven’t tried them yet. We ordered Blueberry Cheesecake, Pistachio Cake, Java Chip Frappucino, Cookies and Cream Frappucino and Iced Mocha. They use Mason Jars for cold drinks, something that I personally like about in coffee shops. 🙂
Place: OK. I like its modernism.
Staffs: Very friendly and accommodating. I even had the gut to ask one of the staffs who Ethan is. lol. Ethan is the son of the owners.
Will definitely go back to try other foods that they offer. I bet this place will become popular soon.
